Driving Farrusco

Driving Farrusco is a project made by Nuno Morgadinho and Ana Aires, they are working on a web interface to control and drive Farrusco around. Meanwhile and because they were in the AZ Residency they also used an Android cellphone with the embedded acelerometers and a kinect too!!

We can’t wait to have Farrusco driving around our office and being controlled remotely by someone somewhere in the planet.

Francisco Dias aka XicoMBD is a young and promising roboticist, one of his latest projects is basically a box with motors, wheels and a Motoruino inside, and on the top of it, there is a computer. He developed some really cool Processing examples of computer vision, HCI and autonomous navigation, check the video below:

Rorcle is a small robot made by amando96, this cool robot was made from printer feeder wheels.

There is a curiosity about the choosen name “Rorcle”:

“Well, about the name, it’s a mix of round, and circle, i thought about naming it ”rutgers” after some man who came up with the circle theory…

Circle theory:

Originates from Rutgers Camden. States that men are fixated on certain things because of their roundness. This encompasses, breasts, all manner of sport balls, bald heads, streetlights. The circle theory states that men in history and entertainment who want to dominate the world have this desire because it is round.”

Complexion

Complexion is a robot made by Jad Berro, has a bluetooth module on it to be remotely controlled by a computer, Jad also wants to add a computer vision application to make it follow colors, detect obstacles and have a more cool behaviors.

He is using a Motoruino that fits perfectly in a project of this complex nature, if I don’t say so myself!

The name says it all, oh and I totally love the wires rats nest.
